A prolific writer and gifted musician, Laura Veirs is a musical risk-taker. Her recordings offer a haunting mix of deadpan folk and blues with sparse arrangements and Pacific Northwest flavors. Her full-length CD, Years of Meteors, has just been released by Nonesuch Records and is a shimmery, even summery album of pop and folk gems. This is the vinyl version of that release. The hit single "Galaxies" is an extended version with guest vocals by rapper Kotos the Rock Thrower.
